This week was light, with a mid-week vacation in the middle. My mind was adrift, and I enjoyed it. Overall, I got a lot accomplished while still being able to squeeze a trip to a near by island in the Great Lakes.
My Favorite Reads of the Week:
GetRichSlowly.org: How to Help Your Kids Build $25,000 Stock Portfolio – A reader at “Get Rich Slowly.org” is doing the same as I am, here is the link to my version of a similar story “Giving My Kids A Head Start In Building Wealth“. The reader has a podcast at the site, and she did it a little differently than I did, but a very good job too. Kudos to her.
Financial Samurai: The Ultimate Solution For A Fair Income Tax Policy In America – Sam brings into question the fairness of the current tax policy. He also brings to light some very interesting points that’s enlightening. Go check it out!
Budgeting in the Fun Stuff: 7 Reasons We Decided to Use the Emergency Fund to Pay Off Debt – Great reasons BFS decided to pay off her car debt (hurray), by using her emergency fund. I think she chose well, I personally would have done the exact same thing! Actually, BFS has a lot of great things going on this past week! Check her site out for all the exciting things happening in her world!
Everyday Thoughts and Tips: Everyday Things I Do To Save Money – Good list, I do most of them too, except for the coupons. This is a must do list that everybody should thing hard about consider doing too.
Bucksome Boomer: Shopping for Car Insurance…Again – Bucksome brings up a great point about continual shopping for insurance via her example! This little tip can save hundreds of dollars per year!
My Favorite Post from Money Reasons:
The Hare And The Tortoise Revisited – I’m not entirely sure that this has as much merit as it once did. I don’t think life percentages really match the moral of the story.
I’m just concluding a great week. 🙂
