Weekly Thoughts:
Well, my Lunch Experiment’s pre-paid amount is up! I’ve fully paid back the money that I borrowed from myself! I’ll blog about this next week…
My wife’s family had their Family Reunion. It’s always interesting to see my wif’e's mom side of the family! They are all pretty nice and interesting to talk to. I was sad to see that my wifes uncle wasn’t there. He is always interesting to talk to.
This past week, a lot of costly problems cropped up, that I will blog about later this week too! I’ll just say that the cost of the problems came to around $800 dollars!
My Favorite Reads of the Week:
- Get Rich Slowly: Why I Buy Local inspired me to write my own local take on Why I buy local. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one! The bloggers at “My Two Dollars” and “The Simple Dollar” also did the same.
- Everyday Tips and Thoughts: Who Needs Yachts and Islands We don’t get to live the life of the super rich, but they miss out too. There is an opportunity costs of not having a great family in a middle class neighborhood too. This mega rich don’t get a real opportunity to take it easy and enjoy their kids growing up! I call this a “Family Man” moment, because the movie put this argument forth with their story.
- Yakezie.com: This site is the brainchild of The Financial Samurai! It’s goals are completely altruistic in nature! It’s just starting up, but it already has made quite a splash! Currently, posts about the pf members are being submitted, then it will speed up from there. Expect great things from this site!!!
- First Gen American.com: Verbal Abuse, Brainwashing and Personal Finance A very powerful and personal post that underscores the financial important task of making sure you pick the right spouse!
- Budgeting in the Fun Stuff: 5 Tips to Help Save on Your Auto Insurance – Great tips! The only one that I haven’t done was number 5. Check it out.
- My Journey Millions: Does Money Buy Happiness? Evan’s Theory - I believe that money does buy happiness to a point, and after you pass that point you do encounter diminishing returns… Interesting and spot on read!
- Young and Thrifty: AC or Windows Down, Which one is better for fuel economy. Great post that questions which is the best options, the goes on to exlain why it’s a mixed answer.

It was the about one of my wife’s old friends and how she was highly successful and married… But still living with her parents! Check it out, it’s an interesting story you don’t hear much about.
