Buying Black Friday Sales Online

Well, I took the plunge spending $574 on Black Friday online purchases this year.

I’ve decided to buy a new hosting service for my websites.  Now on the surface, this might seem odd since I can have unlimited domains on my site with my current host.  The primary reasons I decided to make this purchase are because of speed and reliability.  While my current host has been decent, I think that the jump to the HostGator could provide more speed and stability.  I’m keeping my current host too, but if the jump to my new host pans out, I might move everything over.

My next two purchases were SEO software, but that’s boring and nobody gets into that so I’ll skip it.

My final purchase was a new Canon PowerShot SX150 Camera!

Canon SX150 Camera

Canon SX150 Camera

This particular Camera was $100 off the original price of $250, but the real selling point was the 12x optical zoom (we all know that digital zoom sucks)!  That means I’ll be able to take pictures of things that normally would be very difficult for me to capture!

You may have noticed that everything I mentioned above is for my blog site!  I didn’t really spend anything on myself or for my family.  My family shopping was done a long time ago.

Well, this Black Friday has been the most I have ever spend on Black Friday.  In fact, if you add the amount that I spent on all of the previous Black Fridays days, this day tops them!  The funny thing is I expect to spend more next year, if all goes well!

Don

Hello Black Friday, Looking For A Great Hosting Deal

Black Friday

Black Friday

I hated Black Friday!

Oh, of course I appreciate the prices, but I hate dealing with the mad rush everywhere to get that something special…  I’m more of a Cyber-Monday kind of guy!

But this coming Black Friday, I may have to change my plans of ignoring the event!

As long time reader may know, the www.Moneyreasons.com site was an experiment that started out its existence as a virtual server guest on my Vista workstation at home.  However the reliability and unique characteristics of my ISP caused me to go to a shared host solution instead,  and comparatively, it has been much better, but not great.

So now it’s time to consider a bigger, better solution, because of the great deals coming this Black Friday at HostGator.com!  The rumors is that HostGator is going to offer 50% to 80% off on everything that they currently offer!

The 80% deal off of everything is huge!  I’m honestly debating whether to go to a more expensive shared hosting option at HostGator, or go with a virtual server solution that HostGator offers instead!

After all, with an 80% discount, the Virtual Server solutions will run about the same as a shared host solution!

So yes Virginia, I will be going out on Thanksgiving to purchase goods… at least, online I will!!!

I can honestly say that I’m excited about the HostGator deal!!!

I hope my fellow black friday shoppers get all that they want too, and Happy Thanksgiving to my US readers!!!

Black Friday Tips

Well, I’ve decided I’m not going to do “Black Friday” shopping today.  The hustling and bustling of the crowds just is not worth it to me this year.

Black Friday Craziness

If you are going out into the “Black Friday” jungle, I have some suggestions for you.

  1. Don’t go to the crazy places.  Target, Best Buy, Walmart…  I prefer to go to less crowded places like Staples, Sporting Good stores, etc…  They have deals too, but they should not have the massive crowds.
  2. If you have to go to one of the “crazy places”, think it out before hand with friends. The strategy I know of takes planning with your kids (or siblings) and friends.  So say you’ve determined that you want items from 2 or 3 stores.  You won’t make it to all 3 before the item is out.  So and your friends take your kids (or brother/sister) to stand in line with you.  Your friends (along with their kids) will stand at different store lines.  Then you’ll be able to buy multiple items at the store you are waiting at, while your friend do the same.  Then each of you and your friends will reimburse each other at the end of the ordeal.  This is a win-win for everybody.  Note, it’s important to use cell phones to coordinate during these transactions.
  3. This is obvious, but make sure you don’t have to go to the bathroom during your long wait in line…
  4. Keep your cool, you’re going to see things that will make you mad.  Even though you’ll save some dollars, remember this is still a small event in life…

Good luck in your pursuits, I hope you reap the reward of “Black Friday”!!!
